The House and "farm life"

I have been going to do this for a while now but I have been lazy and just haven't gotten that far. Plus its much easier now that I have Internet here instead of having to go to my mom's to use the computer.

First of all Eric thought we needed to have some chickens to make the place complete or something so he ordered chickens and since the weather has been so crappy they have spent there life so far IN MY HOUSE! It wasn't so bad at first cause they were cute and little and not too much of a problem. Now they are growing very fast and they STINK! My house smells like a chicken coop. I had to go to Diana Wiles and get a Sentsy Burner and stuff to try and at least mask the smell a little. Hopefully the weather decides what its going to do soon so we can get the stinky things outside!

Not long after we got the chickens I was informed that I was going to Cody on Saturday to pick up some bum calves from George's farm. Turns out that they had a cow have twins and she couldn't support both so one was going to have to be bottle fed and they do better if there are at least two instead of just one. My dad offered to buy Brac the other bum calf so feed up and sell later and put the money in a mission fund. The day we were going to get they calves they decided to have us get another so Kaiden could have one too. So we picked up two from George's farm. So then we had 3 calves that needed fed in the morning and night and chickens. Of course this wasn't suppose to be my job but we all know how these things end up. The baby milk cows were big enough that the kids couldn't hold on to the bottles to feed them. About a week after we got the calves I was in the kitchen making their breakfast when I noticed one of them looked like it was dead. So I went out and it wasn't dead but it was close to it. So I called my Dad to come out and look at it and see what was wrong. There is a virus that calves get that effects the lining of their stomach so they can't absorb anything and so basically they dehydrate. Well dummy me didn't figure out the calf was sick until it was almost dead. We put a bag of fluid in him with and IV but he still died later that day. I felt soo bad! It was Kaiden's calf that died so now we are down to Brac's and my Dad's. It is much faster with only two to feed instead of three. We have started letting the calves out of their little pen during the day so they have more room to play and hopefully they will start eating the weeds. Brac loves to chase them around! Breanne is still a little afraid of them which isn't really a bad thing.

We are liking the house we have already had two parties here! We had Brac's birthday party and we had dinner here for mothers day too. Its way nice to have enough room to actually have people over and be semi comfortable. I just wish there was a yard for the kids to play! My kids don't mind playing in the rocks and by the corrals but it would be nicer to have a little bit of grass for the littler ones to play! I would have to say my favorite thing about the house is the dishwasher! All of the years I have been married I haven't had a dishwasher and I tell you what I am loving it! The next best thing would probably be having big closets! It so nice to have enough room to put our clothes. There is also a room for the toys and that helps keep the house looking a little cleaner all the time, that room usually looks like a bomb went off but most people don't see it. Now I am just in need of lots of decor and a nice area rug. I didn't put pictures of the upstairs rooms on yet.. They are just full of stuff that hasn't been unpacked and lots of it probably won't really get unpacked either, lots of baby clothes and stuff. One of these days I need to get the one cleaned up so I can have a sewing/scrap booking room. There are three bathrooms in the house but all of them are in a bedroom, two downstairs and one upstairs. I don't have my washer and dryer here yet because the laundry room has some water damage and black mold and they haven't come to fix that yet! :( I really hate having to go somewhere to do my laundry its getting really old!

Well sorry for such a lengthy post but I figured I would get most of this out of the way and people keep asking for pictures of the house.

Your house looks pretty nice! I'm sorry about the chickens and calves though...I am glad I don't have to take care of any animals! Kids are enough aren't they? Hope you get a washer and dryer soon. It would get old pretty fast hauling your laundry around.
